THINGS TO LEAVE AT HOME
Campers must not bring to camp hatchets, knives, fireworks or
any such 'weapons'.
You must also leave at home all communication
devices* (cell phones or 2-way radios), electronic
devices (games, watches, music players), and expensive
items.
LOST AND FOUND
We work very hard to send campers
home with all they brought. Whatever a camper brings to
camp is their own responsibility to keep track of.
We regularly police our grounds and
return items to campers while they are still in camp. All
unlabelled clothing is donated at the end of Camp; unclaimed,
labeled clothing will be donated as well a few months after
Camp.
Please understand that we
cannot assume responsibility for clothing or belongings
left at camp. Thank you.

MEDICATIONS
Guidelines for sending
Medications to Camp
In case you need to send Medications
(that cannot be suspended) to Camp with your child, it is
important to follow the guidelines listed below in order
to ensure your camper's health and safety.
All camper medications (prescription
or otherwise) are KEPT IN THE HEALTH CENTER.
No camper may keep any medication (including alternative
supplements) in the camper cabin. An exception may be made
for inhalers and epipens, with the parents' permission.
All prescription medications must be
sent to Camp in the ORIGINAL CONTAINER,
with DISPENSING DIRECTIONS written.
Please DO NOT send OVER-THE-COUNTER
MEDICATIONS such as Tylenol, Advil, Claritin,
etc. Our Health Center is well stocked with these medications.
In recent years, campers have
arrived at Camp with a variety of non-prescription, COMPLEMENTARY
SUPPLEMENTS such as: Homeopathic Supplements,
Vitamin and Mineral Supplements, or Herbal Supplements.
Our policy for these products is as follows:
- These supplements must be stored at the Health Center;
- Campers must visit the Health Center and administer these
medications themselves, while in the presence of a Camp
Valle Verde Health Center Staff member; and
- The Camp Valle Verde
Health Center Staff are not responsible for the administration
of these supplements.
We request that you refrain from sending
any medications other than those ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY for
the health and well being of your camper.
SUNSENSE: Staff encourage
campers to protect themselves by reminding them to wear hats,
protective clothing and sunscreen. Campers with sensitive
skin must bring sunscreen (SPF 30 or more).
Please take time to discuss these preparations with your
camper and to provide appropriate sun protection/education.
